Texas A&M University-San Antonio helped bring Fiesta season to an exciting close with its annual Festival De Cascarones, which was held Sunday, April 28. The pet-friendly, on-campus event featured live music, food, games, rides and good times for all.
As the official finale to Fiesta San Antonio, Festival De Cascarones drew a crowd of more than 6,500 attendees from across the region.
The festivities kicked off with musical performances by local artists Jase Martin and Mario Flores. Closing out the night was the award-winning Siggno, one of the industry’s most popular Tejano bands.
Another festival highlight was the Annual Golden Egg contest, a favorite University tradition in which participants record themselves smashing open a cascarone. Lliana Martinez and Valerie Rodriguez submitted the winning videos, which earned them free tuition for a semester.
The University looks forward to celebrating Festival De Cascarones with the San Antonio community next year.
¡Viva la Fiesta!
